Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! We're off to a great start and I'm looking forward to a new and exciting year.
Guidance is underway. I'm visiting each classroom this month to explain what my role as the school counselor is. My first and second grade friends already have a pretty good idea, but for all of our new students to each grade, it's important that everyone learns how to get ahold of me, where my office is, and who I am. I love listening and talking to students on a daily basis. Bad days, sad days, and good days too-I'm here for all of them!
It's been fun getting to know our new kindergarten friends. I have the privilege of lunch duty this year, which I don't mind a bit! It's been a great way to get to know their names and faces and I'm looking forward to watching them grow and helping in that process as the year progresses.
This month's virtue is Courage. The year will find us exploring different virtue's of character. While our time is limited, we'll also be delving into the mindsets and behaviors as developed by the American School Counselor Association. Follow the link to check them out.
